What is steel scrap?

Steel scrap is the metal that contains metal that is capable of being recycled from previous consumption or product manufacturing. Steel scrap can originate from commercial and residential use. These scraps have a high market value, with their ability to be re-used again and again. Recycling steel scrap reduces the amount of waste produced, while also preventing the need for additional mining to obtain new metals for manufacturing purposes.

Use of steel scrap:

Steel scrap metal can be used for a wide variety of purposes, both in the home and in the manufacturing industry.

• Manufacturing and Industrial Uses: Steel scraps are used in automobiles, aircraft, appliances, and industrial containers, ductwork, and plumbing.
• Packaging Uses: Steel scraps are commonly reused as new food packaging.
• Home Uses: Steel scrap metal is often recycled into components for the home, such as furnishings, fixtures, and lighting. Metal roofing materials are often made wholly or in part from recycled metals as well.
• Modern artwork and decorative metalwork may also be made from steel scrap metal, giving objects that have reached the end of their functional lifetime a new, appealing purpose.
• Home Furnishings: Metal furniture is often made of recycled steel scrap and can be beautiful and durable. Gliders, benches, tables and even lamps are just a few home furnishings that have been created from scrap metal.
• Artistic Uses: Steel metal are also used in decorative work also.
